Justice delayed is justice denied and hence, the Indian judiciary cannot be a mute spectator to the delay in case disposals. The reasons for delay could be plethora but, in this case, cumbersome procedural practice of issuance of showcause notice asking the judgment debtor (for short ‘JD’) as to why there should be no execution as per provision under Order XXI Rule 22 of the Civil Procedure Code, 1908 ( for short ‘CPC’) was the root cause of a delay of more than 15 years.
