The Personal Data Protection framework in India was brought after the Indian Supreme Court’s landmark decision in K.S. Puttaswamy vs. UOI, 2017in which it was declared that the right to privacy isa fundamental right and recommended the government of India to come up with a data protection framework to safeguard the data of the citizens in the cyberworld and protect their privacy thereby.
